The money you raise at our 12th Annual Shelter Shiver will help homeless animals of Chicago!
Since ALIVE Rescue's founding in 2008 we have been able to save almost 1,700 dogs, cats, and rabbits. Events like Shelter Shiver help us fund much needed medical care the animals require. We spend an average of $1,262 on every animal we save. Our goal is to rescue 250 animals in 2021 which means our anticipated medical costs this year will be $315,500. This event is vital to our life-saving efforts and your participation ensures we can provide the best care possible to everyone we welcome into the ALIVE Rescue family.
REGISTRATION INFO
For the last 11 years Shelter Shiver participants have plunged into Lake Michigan during the winter months. Given the pandemic and social distancing restrictions, we are taking our 12th Annual Shelter Shiver to a virtual platform. This year you get to SHIVER YOUR WAY. Register today by paying the $25 registration fee and start preparing for your shiver. You'll have until March 14th to submit photos and/or videos of your shiver. We'll share your submissions during our live Facebook event on March 21st at 11 am. Prizes will be announced and awarded during our virtual event.
Don't want to do it alone? Social distancing with your own pod? Put a team together and shiver as a group.
Our annual Shelter Shiver is generally our top revenue generating event. Without donations from this event, we would not be able to save the number of lives we do. Help us reach our goal of $50,000.
The first 50 participants to register will receive a gift bag and special Shelter Shiver gift.

Go ice skating in a swimsuit
Plunge into a bathtub full of ice
Sled in your summer gear
You get the idea. The colder, the better. Be creative.
Prizes will be awarded to our top three fundraisers, person with the best costume, best team theme, most creative video submission, craziest Shiver, and cutest rescue dog/cat/rabbit. Check back for a list of prizes.
What is the deadline to submit photos/videos of my personal Shelter Shiver? All photos and videos must be submitted by March 19th

How old do I have to be to participate? 18 years of age
Does my $25 registration fee go toward my $100 minimum fundraising requirement? The $25 registration fee is not included in your minimum fundraising goal.

Thank you for registering for ALIVE Rescue’s 12th Annual Shelter Shiver taking place on March 21st! This event is vital to the success of ALIVE, and we are truly grateful to have you as part of our first Virtual Shelter Shiver.
With the lofty goal of raising $50,000, we wanted to get you started with some fundraising tips.
You will be receiving an email with a link to set up your personalized fundraising page. You can add a personal message and photo to encourage donations. Once your page is set up, start spreading the word. You can share your page on Facebook and as a link in emails to your friends, family, and co-workers.
We have found the most effective way to raise funds is to send personal emails explaining the event and ALIVE Rescue’s mission, along with a link to your fundraising page. Once someone makes a donation to your page, thank them on Facebook. When you post the thank you on your timeline, tag the person you are thanking and include a link to your fundraising page. This encourages others to donate as well.
